Smooth Chip Leaguer

2006 Sorrel Gelding

Sire: Zip Chip Leaguer

Dam: Smooth Serena

Giorgio was the first quarter horse that we bred and he was out of my original quarter horse mare Serena. He was the first out of 3 Serena babies and the excitement when he arrived was unbelievable. My first chance to produce a horse completely from scratch. Needless to say my plans and George’s ideas were on two completely different pages. I had ideas of grandeur and continuing in his families winning footsteps. Giorgio was set on seeing how much mischief he could cause! As you can imagine or first years together were full of ups and downs, highs and lows but a lot of laughs on the way, he definitely contributed to me bettering my seat! He went to his first show as a 3 year old, and neither of us knew what to expect, however when in the spotlight this horse knew how to shine and quickly became my next winner and went on to become an amazing All around horse for me in both the Amateur and Open divisions. Giorgio’s next chapter was to be with my youth Rider Nina. Their first meeting was an interesting one but it was clearly love at first dangle!! Giorgio displayed his best sense of humour and decided to grab Nina’s hood of her jacket and lift her off the floor!! Shortly after that he was bought by her family (his forever home) and went on to win numerous All Around titles and year end awards in the youth division. They were a dynamic duo. Sadly due to injury he had a few years out but he came back out again strong in to the Open division with new rider Jo, always keeping her on her toes with his fun antics, (but with that gorgeous face all is forgiven quickly!) Again he was back in the winning circle and out doing clinics and being loved and enjoyed. Giorgio was a fantastic horse but sadly injury took him away from us far too soon. He became a lovely fun horse in his later years and really matured nicley into a beautiful riding horse with an incredibly lovely disposition. He shall be Sorely missed x
